L's Preschool Days are 'Ore

Last week Lucas had his last day of preschool. I couldn't help but feel a little sad. Really? Must you really grow up?

His school had a graduation celebration. The kids sang a song and then their teacher introduced them, gave them a lei and told us what they wanted to be when they grew up. Lucas wants to be a fireman.

This little guy is one of Lucas's friends. He moved from Japan this year and started preschool mid-steam without knowing a lick of English. The poor kid cried and cried and threw fits and clung to his Mom every morning for the first week. Of course, we suggested to Lucas that he try to befriend him. He wasn't convinced he could or wanted to but the next day he came home all excited. "If I jump, he jumps. If I run away, he chases me!" His Mom said at graduation he came home that day with a smile and talked about Lucas, his first friend. Just one of the lessons I hope Lucas started learning this year in preschool.

Here is the video of the song they sang. Sorry for the wobblyness of it. I was half laughing/half trying really hard to not cry. There is just something about your own child singing wholeheartedly about God that gets to you.

Cute indeed! Lucas didn't let his cast slow him up one bit! Sunday John Tysor asked the kids if there was anything special they wanted him to pray about and Ella asked him to pray for "my cousin Lucas and his sore arm" and John did. So touching!

That story about L's little friend is so cute. It would make a good kids book or something. It's so sweet. Just goes to show we should all try harder at things we first think are impossible.

The preschool video is great! I love when all the kids are clapping at different times.
