Week Two

The baby fog is lifting...except for at 3am when it comes in low and thick. There is something terribly wrong about being awake at 3am. The world is a cold, dark place.

Anyway it is lifting. I'm almost certain life will return to normal someday.

Although I'm sure saying this will come back to bite me, as of right now little Mia would have to be considered a "good" baby. She hardly complains unless she is hungry or big sister is giving her too much lovin'. She really is just as sweet as sweet can be. I realize it's her Mother who is saying this but I'm pretty sure she REALLY is.

So I was going to give account of the happening surrounding Mia's early arrival but..well...I don't feel like it. Suffice to say, we are very thankful that our Doctor was extra cautious and delivered her early. Turns out my placenta was getting tired of doing it's job and my platelet levels were dropping, both signs of pre-eclampsia. When we talked to my doctor after the fact she said she just had a "feeling" that my pregnancy was going to turn out that way and that was why she ran so many additional tests on me. Me's thinking that "feeling" was put there by our Lord. Amen?

When Nathan was driving the kids home from the hospital Sunday night, he asked Lucas what his first thoughts were after meeting Mia. He responded, "Wow, that is a beautiful baby girl."

Here is a little snippet of what I do instead of the dishes, laundry, etc... (Forgive my baby talk -it sounds much cooler in person)

And Jilly making me laugh with her goofiness...

Nathan and I would like to thank everyone for all the kind messages you've sent us. We have much to be thankful for.
Someday I'll write more and recount the many recent blessings but I haven't figured out how to move the easy chair over to the computer and the chair I'm on now just ain't cuttin' it...TMI? ;o)
