Last night I had to stop making dinner and get a video of Mia playing cowboy with a rather pesky sidekick...

Camping

We had reservations to camp earlier this week at Doheny State Beach but the forecast was for rain. Since "we" have been very anxious to try out our new surfing camper, this was bad news indeed. On a whim, Nathan ran down to the local campground around 4:30 Thursday evening to see if there was any availability. At that exact moment one site came available so he scooped it up. A hour or so later we were munching on our In-and-Out burger ocean side, watching the kids get dirty. Mia and I drove the 4 miles or so back to our soft, clean beds each night. It really was a great little set up! I had a hard time narrowing down pictures so I didn't.MMM...this looks eatable!

Very pleased that she was getting to not only drink pop but also getting to use a big girl cup.
Jill and I watched the sun set together. We waited for the green flash but it wasn't to be.

Breakfast burritos in a cloud of camp smoke.
Riding the beach cruiser seemed like a good idea at first.

After two successful nights, we decided to venture forth and head to Doheny regardless of the impending 60% chance of rain.

Yes, Alan the global warming thing is once again causing our ocean to slant toward Mexico.
60% chance of rain turned out to actually be a mini hurricane or so it seemed when it came ashore sometime the middle of the night. Somehow everything stayed intact and we stayed dry.
Hot cereal to warm us up!

Oh gravy. So many things I could say.
Let's just say that although we woke to beautiful weather and got to play on the beach for a few hours, it eventually started raining again and we picked up and headed for home.

Just life

Lucas spends a good share of the day this way...not sure why. This is the view out my kitchen window most days after school. I love watching him play up there.

Mia lovin' on Henry

Jill helping me plant "seeds".

This is another view I often have from my kitchen. She sits there and eats, tells me stories, asks questions, tells more stories and then asks questions about the story she just told me. I love her.

Another Mia and Henry moment... Henry is just waiting for Mia to share her food, which sadly she does on a regular basis.

I guess she still needs her morning nap.
Tooth number 3 is history but look closer! The inside of the tooth didn't fall out? EWWW! I'm not sure what that is all about but how gross is that?!
He thinks it's great.
