Aug Trip to Idaho

It was over a week ago that the kids and I came home from Idaho and I'm just now getting around to posting some pictures. We of course had a great time but missed Daddy who stayed at home to finish some house details and to monitor leak repairs but that is another story.

Some highlights of our visit:

*FISHING! If you need to know anything about fishing, like what power bait is or when it is the best time of day to go, and as long as you don't really care about how correct the information is, just ask Lucas. He'll be happy to tell you all about it.

*Looking at the stars with Grandpa before bedtime. Jill will tell you she saw three and just as many satellites. Tuesday night was the annual Perseid Meteor shower so we made sure to check it out. It turned out to be more like a trickle but it was still exciting for the kids to see a few shooting stars.

*Playing Cat and Mouse and looking at Where's Waldo books (over and over and over) with Grandma.

*And of course seeing all of our friends and cousins.

We had tears from Lucas in Salt Lake and shouts of joy at the airport in San Diego. That about sums it up. Someday soon "we'll meet to part no more"!

I can't seem to get photobucket to post the slideshow properly and it is approaching midnight so I'll try later...

Last Friday, Rebecca and her kids came over for the day and what a fun day we had. The kids went swimming, played play-doh, rode bike, played ball, sucked up spaghetti one strand at a time and just generally had a great time.

Saturday, we went to San Onofre state beach to visit the Rubles who were camping there. Wyatt ended up coming over for a sleep over. I told the boys they could whisper one story to each other and then they had to go to sleep. Not five minutes later I went to check on them and they were sound asleep.
Sunday afternoon we got to have Howard and Heather DeGraff and their 4 sweet kids over for the afternoon, plus Geoff and Michelle came to pick up Wyatt. We thought Lucas was tired the night before but with 10 kids to play with, he was absolutely exhausted Sunday night. When he crawled into bed he said, "ohhh, this feels sooo good!"

(don't look at the snotty face my son is making...grrrr)

Side notes: Jill has been going around singing "Go to a monster tree, Yahoo!" all day. Any guesses on what the song really is? How about "I'm in the Lord's army, Yahoo!" :o)
Tid-bits to remember: Instead of the phrase a "little bit ago", Lucas says "a little later ago..." I could correct him, but it makes me smile every time he says it wrong. And Jill has coined the phrase "oppsy-deary" when something spills or drops.
